Being a good friend

Do you know what is a good friend? A good friend is someone that always helps you with stuff.

A good friend is someone that helps you up when you're hurt. What will you do if your best friend was hurt would you walk away or would you help him/her up. I would up him/her up because thats my best friend. So if you see someone on the ground hurt just help them up.

Your best friend shouldn’t laugh at what you are wearing even if it looks funny. So friends should never laugh at other peoples clothes. If you see someone crying because someone was laughing should you help them stop crying or just start laughing at him/she. What I will do is help them to stop crying then I will take him/she to play with me and my friends.

Friends play together but they should never leave a person out. Just say you asked them if you could play and they said no what should you do if they said that. Should you run away and start crying or would you go and play with other people. If I was that person I would just go and play with some other people.

So remember to be a good friend and never leave someone out, laugh at their clothes and always help them up.

Riverside A club at Pt England School

Riverside is a club that is for year 4 to 8. It is at Pt England School, Mr Burt the Principle started it long time ago.

At Riverside club they have all kinds of games like dodgeball, basketball and volleyball plus relay games. It is fun to play with alot of kids that come to Riverside Club. All sports are played one at a time on the same day.  

Mr Burt, the principal, said It started when they were having a meeting and they agreed that there were not enough fun things to do for the students. They began Riverside so the students have something to do after school.

There is a camp coming up on the 29th September to 4th October. All of the Riversiders go to this camp at Willow park it is a Christian camp site. There are cabins that they sleep in and they have girls on one side and boys on the other side.

Students at the Riverside Club really enjoy it. Jalen, a student at the Riverside Club, says “it is awesome if you have nothing to do at home”.

This is a fun thing at Pt England School that Mr Burt runs for year 4 to 8. Year 3 will be able to go to Riverside next year.

The Commonwealth Games

Here is my writing about The commonwealth Games I hope you enjoyed.
Do you know what sports are in the Commonwealth Games and what it is? The Commonwealth is just like the Olympics. The countries that are allowed in Commonwealth games are the ones that used to be under Britain. It is every 4 years. On the 23rd of july 2014 Commonwealth games is held in Scotland, Glasgow, The Commonwealth started 1930 in Canada, Hamilton, 400 athletes from 11 countries played 6 sports. It has all kinds of ages from 17 and older. The sports that are in the Commonwealth are The rugby sevens, Judo, Boxing, Table tennis and more. The sport that I am going to talk about first is squash. Squash is a game that involves a bat and a ball. There is wall that you have to hit the ball onto. You are allowed one hit then it is the next person’s turn. The aim of the game is to not get the ball out and not to hit the other player with your bat. In 1946 The Commonwealth was closed due to the WW2 and taken place every four years from then. Here are some of the countries that are in it New Zealand, Samoa, Fiji, Niue, Canada, Wales, Australia, Tonga, India, Scotland, England, Cook Islands, Pakistan and more. 6,500 people played 17 sports in a 11 days. This year England won the games this year they got 58 Gold, 59 Silver and 57 Bronze in a total of 174. I think that the Commonwealth games is amazing this year. Cause it had lots of amazing sports and so much people from different countries. I hope you enjoyed reading my writing.

My Titanic Story

Here is a story that has been told for a long time I hope you enjoy reading.

April 10th 1912, we set sail to New York in the unsinkable Titanic. It is the biggest object to be made by mankind. One beautiful morning the Titanic was ready to go. Over 1,000 passengers were lined up to go into the mighty Titanic I packed 5 big bags of clothes to take with me. When we got inside it was so flash that I could not believe it. I was staying in first class cabins. When it came to night we had butter chicken for dinner and for dessert we had cheesecake and chocolate syrup for the topping it was so yummy.

When I was on the titanic I was so warm. The titanic was going as fast as it could It was going 20 to 25 knots. Then suddenly it was heading towards an iceberg. Captain Smith woke up he turn off the engine for the titanic It was slowing down fast but it was still moving

Captain smith saw the titanic hit the iceberg he didn't care. The titanic had scratches on the side of it. Then the titanic slowly started to sink everyone was screaming. There was not enough lifeboats. Titanic was slowly snapping in half. We realised that we were doomed.. The Titanic went down with some people in the titanic the people that were inside the boat they froze to death.

The titanic was going down fast like a rocket blaster. Then suddenly it slammed into the sand at the bottom of the sea. The titanic is still down there people will not bring it up because that is where people died. Please leave a comment.

World War 2: Made up

Here is a story that I made up about world war 2 I hope you enjoy reading.

A long time ago there lived a man, his name was Jones Parker. He went to the army during WW2 on 1939 Sep 1st. When he got there all he heard was the sound of guns going bang, bang, bang. The whole sky was filled with smoke and everything looked like dust. As he got out off the truck he saw people shooting. So he grabbed a AK-47 and also grabbed a grenade then someone said throw it! So he throw it so high that it went into a tank then it blowed up. But then something sad happened someone shot him two times in the head. He got rushed to Middlemore hospital in Glen Innes.

Jones grew up in Glen Innes and went to Pt England School After school he went to TC, Tamaki College. When he was in  3rd form he left and went to Selwyn College to study more, then he got him a job it was at Pak'nSave. One day Collin Key, the leader of the army came to ask him if he wants to be in the army. Jones said “sure when do I leave” Collin said “to night we got a flight to America at 9pm. I packed my bags and I was ready to go in the mean time I went to work and told my boss that I am going to leave to night the boss said “Okey be safe and have a nice flight..... To be continued.

Holiday Recount

Have you ever been bowling before? Well I did, In the holidays me and my family went to the a.m.f bowling in Panmure. First we got into the car and drove all the way to a.m.f bowling when we got there my mum booked a lane for us then we went to burger king.

Then we got back the family justed finished. it was my turn first so I gave the ball a good throw but went off into the side.Next we played on the games there. There was basketball, racing games and more I played on the racing games and I won the race also we played on the games that gave tickets. We got 200 with the 200 tickets we of ticket we brought lollies and toys to go with it.

After we drove back home and on the way we dropped my nan home. When we got home all of us went to sleep but when we woke back up it was night time. I liked a.m.f bowling because it is fun for the whole family.

Immersion Assembly Term 2

"Today is the first day of school" I said to myself. I got up had breakfast and got dressed then went to school. everybody said "hi Jalen what have you been up to" I said " nothing much".

Then the bell went we went to our home class and lined up into 2 lines and walked to the hall there was balloons everywhere Then the Assembly started. My favorite team was team 5 they were talking about sound and how it works I liked it because it was funny and cool.My next favorite was team 4 they were talking about how things float like boats Team 4 was my team it was I like it because it cool and also they were giving out chocolate fish.

Fiafai 2014

Here is a writing about Fiafia I hope you enjoy. On Wednesday was Fiafia for 2014 when I got there my mum and nana set our stool up. We were selling roti and curry lots of people came to our stool. Then I went to the park to play with my friends we played tag. Mr Burt our Principal said on the loudspeaker “everyone go to your changing rooms” I ran to my changing room. I got dress really fast when everyone in my group was dressed we walked in one line to our big field where the stage was. When it was our turn I was really scared because I was also I was calling Fijian words out so after our performance some people said well done. Swimming Explanation Writing

 Well I have been doing swimming for 2 weeks now. The year 5 and 6 have been going swimming at the Glen Innes pools.

At the beginning of morning tea me and my maths class went to the Glen Innes pool. We walk in two lines when we all got there we went to the changing rooms. Then had a shower to wash the dirt off us then went to go seat down.

Next we got into the pool in two’s so the Intruders could put us into groups. This year I was in Group three again. The first thing that we did was freestyle and backstroke. We learn how to swim so if we are in the sea we can swim to land.

The next day the Intruder told us that we had to kept on swimming to see how many lengths we can do. I did 100 meters after that we got into our groups then jumped into the pool. Then we had to swim to the other side of thee pool.

The next day we learned a new thing you had to put one hand on the board and the other hand in the water. Then we did backstroke after that we did freestyle again. The last day of swimming we had relays and free time.

My favourite part of swimming was free time. Swimming is really cool because if you were stuck in the sea you can swim to land I hope you enjoyed reading my writing.

The Birds Nest

Here is a reading active that me and my reading group had to do I hope you enjoy.

 Tom woke up and turned on the lamp. He pushed the sheet and Woollen rugs off himself and staggered to the Window, which was partly open. He looked up to see a full moon and there, in the moonlight, sitting on a nest in a massive gum tree, was a mother bird and her noisy baby chicks. The nest, made from twigs, straw, wool and dead grass, was swaying wildly from side to side. As it did so, the mother bird tried to calm her frightened young ones by chirping softly to them.
